My first wedding of June 2021 was nothing short of amazing!! Emily and Chad celebrated their wedding day the first Friday of June with an elegant summer War Memorial tent wedding on their expansive lawn facing the water. After a venue and date switch, Emily and Chad were still able to have their gorgeous wedding day and it could not have gone more perfectly. The weather was flawless and all of the beautiful flowers at the War Memorial were blooming big and bright!
We started the day at the War Memorial where Emily and her girls got ready. Everyone was so calm and happy getting ready! I loved the fun floral robes Emily chose for her girls to hang out in! The photos we captured in that room will be forever favorites. Wait until you see the gorgeous portraits of Emily! It was also fun watching through the windows as the team set up their gorgeous War Memorial tent wedding below. We got to see the behind the scenes reception magic!
Emily and Chad were married at the historic Ste. Anne de Detroit church in Downtown Detroit and it was a beautiful ceremony. Ste. Anne is full of history and stunning architecture! From there we headed to the DIA to capture some wedding party photos before departing for the War Memorial. I love the group shots of the wedding party on the steps of the DIA! This wedding party absolutely wowed!
The sky was the prettiest blue when we arrived at the back steps for their War Memorial tent wedding! I love tent weddings so much and I really hope the trend for tent weddings sticks around! They’re so dreamy filled with string lights and chandeliers! It’s so nice to be outside and enjoy the beautiful summer weather, too. Everyone shared such heartfelt speeches about this wonderful couple and there were a lot of happy tears! It was so special to witness. I love all of the photos we captured at their War Memorial tent wedding, but the photos of Emily and Chad twirling around the dance floor under the War Memorial tent are some of my absolute favorites!
Congratulations again Emily and Chad! Your day was so wonderful and I’m so glad I got to be a part of it! Wishing you both many happy years together!
