Welcome to the Brp journal
I’m beyond excited to share my first 2021 wedding with you guys today! Erin and Ryan were married on a beautiful sunny late January day and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Their Metro Detroit winter wedding day looked nothing like their original plans, but in my humble opinion, this was way better. These two had originally planned to get married in Pittsburgh with a large wedding, but ultimately decided to have an intimate wedding in Erin’s hometown with just their immediate family. It was a chilly day, but the sun was shining bright and there was a bit of snow on the ground! It was a perfect Michigan winter day.
These two became husband and wife at the beautiful St. Hugo of the Hills chapel. St Hugo’s has always been one of my favorite churches – the old stone and stained glass windows are just incredible. Erin looked stunning walking down the aisle and Ryan even had to wipe a few tears away. Their ceremony was extra special with their closest family in attendance. Erin and Ryan braved the cold and we captured some amazing snowy photos on the grounds of St. Hugo’s before heading to Erin’s childhood home for their reception. St. Hugo was. theperfect backdrop for their intimate Metro Detroit winter wedding!
Their intimate reception was just incredible. Every little detail was hand chosen. Erin thoughtfully picked out every floral and her dad created every single wood piece throughout the home. It was amazing. They brought private chefs into the home to create a lovely meal for their family and an awesome band duo for dancing. Erin also got two whiskey barrels from The Whiskey Factory in Detroit and built a champagne tower on one and used the second for their cake! In a nod to their sweet pup Lady, they had an adorable dog figurine on their cake and she had taken a “bite” out of it!
Everything was so heartfelt, from the details, to the speeches, to the dances. There was so much love and happiness surrounding these two all day long. I teared up on more than one occasion. These intimate weddings are so powerful and just so meaningful. It was such a blessing to be a part of their day and I’m just so darn grateful.
Congratulations again Erin and Ryan! Thank you so much for allowing me to capture your wedding day! I wish you both a lifetime of love and happiness!
