Where do I even begin with these two!? Rachel and Matt were married just a few weeks ago on one of the most beautiful days in March at The Inn at St. John’s in Plymouth, Michigan. I’m not exaggerating when I say they are hands down two of the kindest people I have ever met. Rachel and Matt are high school sweethearts and have been together for over eight years! Rachel wrote me the sweetest note and gave me the most thoughtful gift on her wedding day (a beautiful Lilly tote because she knows how much I love LP!) because that’s just the kind of person she is. Her note almost had me in tears when she told me she wouldn’t have chosen anyone else to capture her day as she married her best friend and high school sweetheart. I am so beyond blessed to work with the very best couples!

We started the day in the presidential suite where the girls were getting ready and my favorite hair and makeup team, Ashley MacPherson and crew, was on deck making the entire group look amazing. Everyone was so happy and full of excitement for these best friends to tie the knot! Family is so important to these two and that was felt all day long. Rachel’s Oma even MADE her wedding dress! Her grandmother has made many wedding gowns for women in the family, including Rachel’s mom. So her Rachel’s grandmother used buttons from her daughter’s dress to make her granddaughter’s dress! How incredible is that!?

Rachel and Matt chose to do a first look in the early afternoon and I’m so glad they did! Their reactions to seeing each other were so sweet! They had the best private moment together in one of the beautiful hallways at the Inn at St. John’s. It was a perfect spot for their first look! We headed outside for portraits before the ceremony and the weather was so perfect! There was a light layer of bright white snow on the grounds of the Inn at St. John’s, just enough to make it pretty! The sun was shining and it was actually pretty warm! It made photos outside so much fun. I think the joy on Rachel and Matt’s faces radiates through every single image. You can definitely tell these two are soulmates.

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Shuler!! I am so darn happy for you both and I wish you guys a lifetime of love and friendship together. Your wedding was the perfect celebration of you guys and it was so incredible to be apart of. Thank you so much for choosing me to photograph your amazing day and I hope you love your photos!
