Alexa and Rashad’s city engagement session in Detroit was my first shoot of 2019! I’ve actually photographed four engagement sessions in January and boy are my couples adventurous! Seriously, the weather in Michigan in January is not for the faint of heart. Snow, wind, cold… they have all braved the elements to get amazing photos and I am so impressed with my couples. It’s not easy being on the other side of the camera when it’s 10 degrees outside! Alexa and Rashad were such good sports with the cold and we managed to take a lot of photos downtown in the city before heading up to the Detroit Public Library. I honestly don’t know which location was my favorite! The architecture in the library is amazing and I just love the photos we captured there! Alexa and Rashad are such a stylish, chic couple. I swear Alexa looks like a model in every photo!

I still remember when I got Alexa’s inquiry last year and I was so excited when they booked me! Alexa and Rashad have been together for 10 years – since high school! How amazing is that!? Rashad proposed in Santorini, Greece on Alexa’s birthday and he planned the most INCREDIBLE proposal. I was absolutely blown away by the engagement video Alexa sent me! Rashad completely took Alexa by surprise when he proposed on her birthday on a cliff overlooking the amazing blue waters of Greece. He had the entire proposal documented with video and photos, too. Talk about an amazing way to celebrate the start of the next chapter in their lives!

Alexa and Rashad, thank you so much for choosing me to capture this special time in your lives! I hope you guys love your engagement photos and I can’t wait for your wedding at Lovett Hall in May! I’m so excited to see you two get married! It’s going to be an incredible day!
