Irda and Stephen married a few weeks ago at the historic Masonic Temple in Detroit on the first Saturday in September. It was quite possibly one of the hottest days of the entire summer but you would never even know from these photos! Although it was a little toasty, it was a beautiful day for a lovely couple in Downtown Detroit and their wedding was nothing short of amazing.

We started the day at Irda’s parents’ home where she got ready. Irda had the most beautiful details! The most spectacular of all was her incredible wedding dress and coordinating two veils that were made with love by her mom. Yes, that’s right – Irda’s mom actually made her wedding dress! If I didn’t know any better, I’d think she was a professional wedding dress designer! Her dress was seriously that gorgeous! Irda’s mom sewed the sweetest details on the inside of her dress to commemorate the day. Wait until you see!

Irda and Stephen decided to do a first look at her parents’ house before heading to Detroit and I’m so glad they did! I’ve said it before, but I just love when couples opt to do a first look! It’s such a beautiful moment for a couple and I just love seeing the groom’s reaction every time! Stephen was no exception. His face was pure awe when he saw his bride! At the house, the family shared so many wonderful Albanian traditions that were really special to witness. There was so much love in the room!

We were able to stop at a few cool locations in Downtown Detroit before heading to the Masonic Temple for the wedding. I love the portraits we captured downtown! And the wedding party photos we took on top of the roof! The entire crew were such good sports about the heat, too. From there, we got ready for the ceremony at the chapel in the Masonic Temple. It’s such a unique and architecturally impressive space! My favorite moment from their ceremony was when Irda and Stephen walked back down the aisle to guests tossing confetti! It was so fun!!

Every part of this wedding was so wonderful and it was an honor to be apart of it! I hope you guys love your photos and treasure them for years to come! Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Dothage! I’m so happy for you two and I wish you both all of the happiness in the world!
