We’ve been waiting for spring in Michigan for so long and it’s finally arrived! Last weekend marked the start of my 2018 wedding season and I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful spring wedding to start the year off! I was so honored when Erika’s mom contacted me about photographing Erika and Mike’s wedding this past winter! I was able to photograph Erika’s cousin Emily’s wedding last June so this was extra special to see so many familiar family faces! After a torrential rain storm earlier in the day, we ended up with the most beautiful weather for Erika and Mike’s May wedding day! We got so lucky!

Erika and Mike are such a wonderful couple and so great together. They put a lot of care into the details of their day, including writing their own vows and using the cake knife that belonged to Erika’s grandparents. They got married with the sun shining in the late afternoon and Mike had the SWEETEST reaction to seeing Erika walk down the aisle! Seriously the best! I was emotional behind my camera watching it all unfold. Their vows were so heartfelt and the entire wedding was just so perfect.

These two radiated joy all day long! Everyone at their wedding was so overjoyed to see this lovely couple become husband and wife. It was truly incredible to see all the love in the room for these two. We got to sneak out for a few sunset photos after dinner and I’m SO glad we did! These spring photos are so pretty! These photos are some of my all time favorite photos! As much as I love black & white images, I had to share most of them in color because the sunset was just too gorgeous!
