I’m so excited to finally be sharing this elegant black tie Castle Hall elopement inspired shoot in Downtown Detroit on the blog today! This rich, classic, and romantic wedding shoot dreamt up and executed by the lovely women of A Lovely Day Events was such a dream to photograph! From the stunning burgundy velvet Manolo Blahniks and matching Mrs. Box, to the marble place cards, every little detail was perfect!

The portraits we captured at the Detroit Institute of Arts and in the streets of Detroit are definitely some of my all time favorites! I loved how the long BHLDN cathedral veil blew in the wind in so many photos! Erika and Tom, aka Cole and Sutton, are an absolutely gorgeous couple and I think you’ll agree! They met at Michigan State University while Tom was studying abroad from Australia! The rest is history and now they’re husband and wife! I just love having real couples model for shoots like this because of the genuine love and laughter that shine through in the photos. Plus, I’m pretty sure they’re both secretly models in real life because they are seriously stunning individuals! Erika looked so chic in her BHLDN gown and Tom was so handsome in his black tux!

It was an honor to work with such a talented team of friends and vendors without whom this day wouldn’t have been possible! Kaitlynn and Emma of A Lovely Day are the absolute best and I can’t say enough good things about these amazing women.
