Just a few weeks before their wedding, Maryam contacted me about photographing her September wedding at the Colony Club in Downtown Detroit. I’ve been dying to shoot a wedding there and I was over the moon when I got her inquiry! It seemed like it was meant to be – it was the only Saturday in September I was available! Maryam and Kaveh have been doing long distance for several years and finally was moving to Toronto! She planned her entire Persian wedding at the Colony Club in under three months! Seriously so impressive!! We met up for coffee and we instantly became friends.

Every part of their day was so lovely, just like this sweet couple. Maryam is so kind and sweet. These two had their first look in Downtown Detroit and Kaveh was overcome with emotion when he saw his bride. I definitely teared up behind my camera! One of the best first looks ever!! We got to capture their photographs by the Colony Club and I just love the gorgeous city skyline in their photos!

Maryam and Kaveh were surrounded by only their closest family and friends. They had a blast celebrating with everyone. Their traditional Persian ceremony was amazing and so heartfelt. Throughout the day, Kaveh would just light up every time he looked at Maryam. These two are so perfect for each other and I’m absolutely honored I got to capture their wedding! Congratulations Maryam and Kaveh – I wish you both an amazing life together!!
