Welcome to the Brp journal
It makes my heart so happy to see more weddings are happening this Spring! Do you want to know the cherry on top of Erin and Tanner’s matrimonial magic? They hosted their springtime metro Detroit wedding on the most gorgeous days of the year so far. Truly the pair could not have asked for better weather. Seasonal flowers were blooming, the sunshine was warm, and there wasn’t a drop of rain all day. If you’ve been to any spring weddings in Michigan, especially with an outdoor reception, you know what a triumph that is!Â
The day began at Erin’s childhood home with her fur baby by her side. Her adorable companion Yoshi was a part of the day’s festivities all morning. Both the bride’s mother and grandmother were there to help her get ready. It was so sweet to experience multiple generations in one room together celebrating. Erin and her grandma have a very special bond. I found myself getting a little emotional at one point witnessing their love for one another! Erin looked incredible in her satin ball gown wedding dress complete with a statement back bow. Tanner looked handsome as can be in his classic black tux. The pair were dressed to the nines and so ready to finally become husband and wife at their Michigan wedding.
The wedding began with an intimate ceremony at The Inn at St. John’s. Afterward, the sunshine was beaming down as we captured their bride and groom portraits on the beautiful grounds. I couldn’t get over how beautiful the tree blossoms were in the courtyard! Erin and Tanner also had an awesome vintage Rolls Royce that transported the bride and her parents to the ceremony. Parked outside, we were able to take amazing portraits with it after the ceremony. From there we headed to Erin’s aunt’s property where there was a stunning, clear top tent to host their celebration of love. Nothing beats a greatly executed tent wedding on a private residence. At first, Erin and Tanner had originally planned their entire reception at the Inn at St. John’s but shifted gears a few months before to this gorgeous setup. I think their backup plan was even better than the original!
I was in awe when we arrived at the tented reception. Everything about Erin and Tanner’s classic black and white wedding exuded style. Topping off the evening, the individual speeches were so heartfelt. The father of the bride, brother of the bride, maid of honor, and best man all took turns sharing wonderful stories about these two. One after the other they each had amazing things to say and everyone in the room couldn’t help but become emotional. Above all, it was clear that these newlyweds had so much fun at their springtime metro Detroit wedding reception and celebrating their marriage! Congratulations again Mr. & Mrs. Truscott. Enjoy your honeymoon in Miami!
