Welcome to the Brp journal
Katie and Patrick became husband and wife last August with a classic summer Grosse Pointe wedding. Now they’re expecting their first little one together in just a few weeks. Time is flying by! I love hearing about and continuing to capture my couples’ milestones after their weddings. Originally when they were planning their celebration, it was intended to be at the Detroit Golf Club. Due to circumstances they decided to shift their reception to their backyard. This meant they had to decrease their guest list from 100 friends and family down to just their parents, siblings, spouses, nieces, nephew’s and Katie’s daughters. At the end of the day, Katie and Patrick’s intimate micro wedding was unforgettable and overflowed with so much love.
First, we started the day with their beautiful ceremony at St. Paul on the Lake in Grosse Point. The location is sentimental because they began attending services together when they first started dating. Katie and Patrick shared an endearing first look on the picturesque grounds of St. Paul’s before the festivities began. After the ceremony, the new Mr. and Mrs. wanted to capture their wedding portraits at the Edsel & Eleanor Ford House. Patrick had proposed to Katie at the Ford House so it was heartwarming to see their journey in love come full circle. Meanwhile, the pair had also rented a stunning silver Packard from Motor City Vintage Rentals for the day as transportation, which made for an awesome addition to their photos!
Afterward, guests made their way to the garden soiree. It was a hot, sunny Michigan day which was perfect for the tent reception at their backyard micro wedding. Bella e Dolce designed the wedding cake and it was a show-stopper! Every little detail was so thoughtful. Katie and Patrick even went as far as to include a few elements from the Detroit Golf Club to showcase their love for the club. As the evening wore on, there were so many precious moments from toasts, to speeches, to dancing, and shared laughter that made their summer Grosse Pointe wedding unforgettable.
Katie and Patrick had such a special and memorable day surrounded by their closest friends and family. At the close of their celebration, I remember the beautiful bride mentioning her favorite moment was the special time she and Patrick shared during their first look. I couldn’t agree more. Congratulations again Mr. and Mrs. Daly!! I adored each moment of being your Grosse Pointe wedding photographer. I can’t wait to capture your little one’s newborn photos so soon!Â
