After many months of photographing weddings only in the Midwest, it was a joy for me to travel and tap back into destination wedding photographer again and capture a special moment amongst family. My husband and I flew to Houston, Texas to celebrate and photograph our cousins Aly and Travis as their Houston wedding photographer. This sweet couple was married on the last Saturday of March at The Carriage House Houston in a classic spring destination wedding. What a joy it was to say that their family and friends were able to travel from all over to be there with them!

Currently, Aly and Travis live in North Dakota; however, Aly is originally from Michigan and Travis is from Texas. They planned their dream celebration with a serene Lake Conroe wedding just outside of Houston. What a lovely Texas wedding it was! As tradition goes, the bride and groom exchanged gifts before their ceremony. Aly gifted her groom a watch and Travis gave his bride lovely diamond earrings. Most important of all before their ceremony, they shared a sweet private first look. With their blush and green wedding colors, the palette set the tone perfectly throughout for their chic southern Texas wedding.

Sentimental touches created by family and friends were included throughout the wedding which made the details that much more special. Aly and Travis had a beautiful ceremony inside the chapel that was officiated by the groom’s brother who traveled all the way from Spain to be there. Travis’s mother lovingly made the flower bouquets for the bride and bridesmaids while a family friend created a beautiful customized wedding cake. It was an overcast day with a few sprinkles here and there. Eventually, the sun peeked through just in time for a few sunset portraits right before the reception began. We were all so glad it did! As we walked the grounds of The Carriage House Houston, we were able to capture the most beautiful wedding photos.

Meanwhile, Travis couldn’t wait for his wife to join him on the dance floor. He spun Aly around gracefully during their first dance as they executed a perfect box-step waltz. As the reception wound down there was a sweet sparkler send-off at the end of the night for the happy couple who then rode off in a limo to begin their married life. Everyone had so much fun celebrating the newlyweds at their unforgettable Houston wedding! Congratulations again Mr. & Mrs. Rice! Enjoy your honeymoon! I hope you loved every moment of your classic spring destination wedding.
