Where do I even begin with these two? They are just the sweetest and their wedding day was so special! Annmarie and Nick planned their original wedding last year for a grand September 2020 affair at the War Memorial before postponement restrictions altered their vision. They pivoted to host a smaller summer Detroit micro wedding in July instead. These two could not wait for another second to be married! They’ve been together for many years and a handful of those years were long distance.
They have the cutest Goldendoodle named Nola. Funny story, I actually knew Nola before I ever met Annmarie and Nick! Annmarie’s parents are my neighbors and they watched Nola frequently. I would take my Goldendoodle Brinkley over to visit Nola and play outside on the occasions when they were pup-sitting. There’s nothing like the love of Goldendoodles to link two couples! I fell in love with sweet Nola. When they decided to tie the knot last minute, Annmarie’s mom had reached out to see if I was available and the rest is history. I was ecstatic to photograph their Michigan wedding, finally meet them, and of course, see Nola.
Annmarie and Nicked planned their entire Detroit elopement in less than two weeks. The pair hosted their metro Detroit wedding at Testa Barra in Macomb, MI. It could not have been a more beautiful summer day. Annmarie got ready in her childhood home with her mother and father by her side. It was so special that Nola was able to be there for all the pictures. Annmarie looked radiant in her fitted dress with a blusher veil and Nick looked so handsome in his classic groom’s tux. These two tied the knot in a beautiful outdoor ceremony surrounded by their immediate family and closest friends. After, they hosted an elegant dinner featuring timeless reception decor with a neutral color palette highlighted by ivory and gold accents.
It may not have been the original wedding they had planned, but it was incredibly special and the perfect summer day. I still can’t get over all of the speeches at their reception! Each one was extra heartfelt and so meaningful. Everyone there was teary-eyed by the end of it all. Congratulations again, Annmarie and Nick! I’m so honored I got to be a part of your day! Thank you for trusting me as your Michigan wedding photographer to document your summer Detroit micro wedding. And of course, I can’t wait for more puppy playtime with Nola and Brinkley!
