Anna and Cory’s elegant black tie wedding at the Inn at Bay Harbor was one for the books! I had seriously been looking forward to their wedding day for a full year and I was so excited to travel to Northern Michigan to celebrate this couple. This was a destination wedding for everyone, including the bride and groom! Although Anna is originally from Michigan and Cory from Pennsylvania, they both lived in Arizona for the duration of their engagement leading up to their wedding day. It was so special that all of their friends and family traveled to the Inn at Bay Harbor in Petoskey to celebrate this beautiful couple!

We started the day where Anna and Cory were getting ready on the property at the Inn at Bay Harbor. It was a chilly, overcast day (high of 45 degrees!) at the end of September, but the curve ball of Michigan weather did nothing to bring down the mood of everyone. Northern Michigan is a gorgeous setting no matter the weather and the views of the water from both cottages were just amazing. Blue water as far as you can see! Anna and Cory were both so happy all morning, surrounded by their closest friends as they got ready for the day. We then headed to the Cross in the Woods where Anna and Cory shared a sweet first look before their ceremony. I love when couples choose to do a first look – it’s just such a special moment! I loved how happy they were to see each other!

After the ceremony, the entire bridal party hopped on the cutest trolley to head to a gorgeous vineyard in Petoskey with rolling hills before going to the Inn at Bay Harbor Yacht Club and Marina for more photos. I’m seriously obsessed with all of their photos! Even though it was an overcast day and definitely cold, we captured some amazing photos and I just love them all!

Our final stop was the Inn at Bay Harbor where cocktail hour took place on the heated terrace and Anna and Cory had the coolest entrance to their reception! Cory is a big Pittsburgh Steelers fan and they had custom personalized yellow Terrible Towels made for all of their guests. Everyone greeted them by waving their bright yellow Terrible Towels! It was so fun! One of my favorite parts of their reception was the speeches. Heartfelt speeches were given by Anna’s father in addition to Anna’s sister and Cory’s best friend. It was so wonderful to listen to how loved these two are!

Mr. and Mrs. McLaughlin – thank you so much for choosing me to capture your wonderful wedding in Northern Michigan! I loved celebrating alongside you guys all day and the Inn at Bay Harbor was the perfect setting to start your marriage. I’m so happy for you guys and I can’t wait for you to see the rest of your photos!
