Welcome to the Brp journal
Laura and John’s amazing Detroit Yacht Club wedding was absolutely one for the books!! Laura and John are both sailors and they met on a sailboat! Their entire story is like a fairytale. It was only fitting that their special celebration took place at the Detroit Yacht Club! Their love of the water, adventure, and sailing fit so perfectly for their day! Every part of their wedding was thoughtfully planned. Laura is one of the most thoughtful and kindest people I have ever met. It was so important to her that everyone in attendance had the best time at their wedding. When Laura described her wedding to me, she told me that they viewed their wedding as a big celebration for everyone who has significantly shaped their lives and made them the people they are today. They wanted to throw a big party to say thank you! I thought that was so beautiful!
Laura incorporated so many special and thoughtful details into their day. She wore her mother’s veil, the shoes she wore when she took dance lessons with John, and even brought an heirloom bible and old photos of the strong women in her family. They planned special desserts for guests, childcare for their friends with young babies, and even included a cappuccino bar that made lattes with the Claddagh on top! Laura also honored her Irish heritage with the Claddagh ring she wore. The symbol represents love, loyalty, and friendship – three traits that are evident in both Laura, John, and their relationship.
On our way into Downtown Detroit for photos, Laura was beaming from ear to ear and she told me so genuinely that the only thing that mattered all day long was that she and John were now officially husband and wife. They were married! Laura and John were so overjoyed to be married and their family and friends were just as equally excited. Their wedding party was so much fun and all of the speeches their friends and family gave were so heartfelt. You could feel the love for these two all day long. I absolutely love all of the photos we captured throughout their day, but my absolute favorites were the sunset photos we snuck out for at the Detroit Yacht Club after dinner. I still can’t get over these images!! Wait until you see them!
Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Gallien! I am still so honored you chose me to capture your incredible Detroit Yacht Club wedding celebration and I hope you cherish these photos for many years to come!
