This wedding took me longer than usual to edit and blog – mainly because I was so in love with every part of it that I wanted it to be perfect! Fair warning, this blog post is looong and full of beautiful portraits because it was just so amazing that I couldn’t narrow down the photos! This wedding was just that good!!!
I had the honor of photographing Dayna and Doug’s wedding this past July at The Grosse Pointe War Memorial and it was just as wonderful as I imagined it would be. From start to finish, this day was just perfect. It was a beautiful sunny July day, beautiful flowers everywhere, and blue waters in the background. The girls started the day at the Westin Book Cadillac in Downtown Detroit and then we headed to the War Memorial for the ceremony and reception. There were so many special parts of this day, including Dayna’s first look with her dad, the private letter exchange Dayna and Doug had before their ceremony, and the moment Doug saw Dayna for the first time. Dayna’s details were absolutely perfect – I just love elegant, classic neutrals! She even had a piece of her mother’s wedding dress wrapped around her bouquet! Dayna and Doug’s bridal party was one of the sweetest bridal parties I’ve ever had – they were so wonderful to hang out with! The groomsmen all wore matching duck socks to reflect Doug’s love of hunting and the girls had the most beautiful bouquets! And the flower girl and ring bearer couldn’t have been any more adorable! The ceremony and reception were such a wonderful celebration of this incredible couple. Dayna and Doug’s first dance was truly one of my all time favorites and they twirled around the floor under bright chandeliers to “Yours” by Russel Dickerson. To end this amazing day, everyone gathered outside for a beautiful sparkler exit to send Dayna and Doug off!
This was such an incredibly heartfelt wedding and you can see it in every photo. So much love and joy surrounded Dayna and Doug as they celebrated their special day and life together. I am so happy for these two and I feel privileged to have been a part of this amazing wedding. Congratulations newlyweds and thank you so much for choosing me to be your wedding photographer!
